Uzbekistan discusses cooperation with OSCE in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a meeting in Tashkent with the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Feridun Sinirlioglu, according to the Foreign Minister.

During the talks, the sides discussed the role and significance of the OSCE in the current international environment, as well as its contribution to strengthening dialogue and mutual trust between states.

Particular attention was paid to Uzbekistan’s initiatives in the areas of gender equality, youth policy, cybersecurity, green development, environmental sustainability, and regional cooperation. The importance of expanding practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE was emphasized.

The parties also discussed the formation of a new atmosphere in Central Asia based on good-neighborliness and mutual trust.

In addition, views were exchanged on current issues on the international and regional agenda.

It was noted that all conflicts and contradictions should be resolved exclusively through diplomatic means, dialogue, and in accordance with international law.
