Uzbekistan and Serbia Discuss Labor Migration Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 May, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev held talks with Milica Stamenkovski, Serbia’s Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran Affairs and Social Policy, according to official sources.
During the meeting, the Serbian side noted the positive momentum of reforms in Uzbekistan and emphasized the steady development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The main focus of the discussions was cooperation in the field of labor migration. The two sides reviewed prospects for signing an intergovernmental agreement on migration and discussed possible measures to simplify visa procedures for citizens of both countries.
The talks also addressed approaches to combating irregular migration and strengthening mechanisms for managing migration flows. Participants stressed their readiness to expand cooperation in this area.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their intention to strengthen partnership ties and implement joint initiatives aimed at further developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia.
