Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbekistan–Qatar investment roundtable was held in Tashkent with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Sayed.

During the event, the sides discussed prospects for expanding bilateral investment and trade-economic cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects in strategic sectors of the economy.

According to the organizers, in 2025 the volume of mutual trade between the two countries increased by 30.1%, while Uzbek exports to Qatar grew by 36.5%.

Participants focused on attracting Qatari investments into the banking sector, mineral extraction projects, and the development of the chemical industry. Initiatives in transport infrastructure, tourism, and the management of regional transport and logistics hubs were also discussed.

A separate segment of the talks was dedicated to trade and the agro-industrial complex. The sides considered opportunities for establishing agro-clusters, as well as promoting Uzbek agricultural products in Middle Eastern markets.

Within the framework of the roundtable, representatives of relevant ministries and companies from both countries presented projects and practical proposals aimed at further developing the partnership.

Following the meeting, participants noted that the event served as a platform for moving toward the practical implementation of previously reached agreements.
