Rossotrudnichestvo plans to open Russian House in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Rossotrudnichestvo is considering the possibility of opening a Russian House in Samarkand. The new cultural and humanitarian center is expected to begin operations in 2027, however the project’s implementation depends on approvals from the Uzbek side and the resolution of organizational issues. This was reported by the head of the agency’s representative office in Uzbekistan, Irina Staselskaya, according to TASS.

According to her, preparations for opening the new office are currently at the development stage, with key issues including the selection of a suitable building and compliance with requirements applied to diplomatic mission premises. Staselskaya noted that the process of selecting a facility is complicated by the need to meet established parameters, which requires additional time.

She also emphasized that further progress on the initiative will be possible only after receiving the necessary approvals from Uzbekistan. Only after completing all procedures and selecting a building, she said, can the project move to the next stage of implementation.

At present, one Russian House operates in Uzbekistan, located in Tashkent. It has been functioning for 25 years and remains an active center for humanitarian and cultural cooperation.
