Uzbekistan and Poland Expand Cooperation in Free Economic Zones
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Poland, a delegation from the Kokand and Navoi free economic zones conducted a working visit to Poland, holding a series of meetings with government officials and business representatives, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the talks, the Uzbek delegation discussed prospects for expanding exports of Uzbek products to the Polish and European Union markets, as well as attracting foreign investment into the Kokand and Navoi free economic zones.
Special attention was given to industrial cooperation and the implementation of joint investment projects.
The meetings were held with Deputy Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship Marek Wojciechowski, President of the Lublin Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dariusz Jedlina, representatives of the Lodz Special Economic Zone, as well as management of the PTAK Expo exhibition center and local business representatives.
As a result of the negotiations, the two sides reached several agreements on practical cooperation. These include cooperation between the Lublin Chamber of Commerce and Industry and UZE Export-Import to promote Uzbek products in the Polish market, as well as the introduction of digital solutions at SEZ enterprises with the participation of Wschodni Klaster ICT.
In addition, Polish companies are expected to be involved in the Kokand SEZ with the support of the Lodz Special Economic Zone. Separate agreements were reached on exports of Uzbek textile products to Poland and the EU, involving companies such as Ptak Wholesale Centre, Pako Lorente, WALL, and Boogie.
The parties also discussed potential localization of LPG/CNG equipment and automotive components production in the Kokand SEZ in cooperation with AC S.A., as well as possible supplies of metal structures and agricultural machinery from Polish companies PROMOSTAL, INTERTECH, and SaMASZ to Uzbekistan.
