Tashkent metro passenger falls on tracks, survives
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A passenger fell onto the tracks at the Gafur Gulyam metro station in Tashkent on the evening of May 2 but survived after the train driver stopped in time, the city’s metro operator said.
According to the Tashkent Metro, the incident occurred at around 21:35 when a woman accidentally ended up on the tracks directly in front of an approaching train No. 40.
The train driver reacted promptly and brought the train to an immediate halt, preventing serious consequences. The metro operator said all required safety measures were fully observed.
Preliminary information indicates that the woman did not sustain serious injuries. An ambulance crew transported her to a medical facility for examination.
The incident did not affect metro operations, with train services continuing as scheduled without delays.
The Tashkent Metro urged passengers to strictly follow safety rules when using the system.
