Earthquake of Magnitude 3.8 Recorded in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A magnitude 3.8 earthquake was recorded in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara region on 21 May 2026, according to the Republican Center for Seismoprognostic Monitoring.

The epicenter of the tremors was located in Jondor district of Bukhara region. The coordinates of the event were 40.29° north latitude and 63.13° east longitude. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km.

The tremors were felt across parts of the country. In the city of Gazli, shaking reached 2–3 points at a distance of 32 km from the epicenter. In Peshkun district, tremors of 2 points were recorded at a distance of 40 km.

The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent was 524 km in a south-western direction. The event occurred at 15:47:03 local time.

This is the second earthquake recorded in Uzbekistan during the day.
