Uzbekistan, RIPE NCC Strengthen Digital Infrastructure Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Vahan Hovsepyan, Senior Advisor on Public and Government Affairs at RIPE NCC, during which the sides discussed the development of cooperation in internet technologies.
The main focus was placed on expanding the use of IPv6, strengthening network security and internet stability, as well as enhancing technical capacity and cooperation with regional and global internet communities.
The parties reviewed ongoing cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding between Uzbekistan and RIPE NCC, and noted collaboration with Uzbektelecom JSC on expanding IPv6 implementation and related technical measures.
It was noted that Uzbekistan has become one of the leading countries in Central Asia in IPv6 adoption due to consistent preparation of its network infrastructure for growing demand for digital services.
RIPE NCC emphasized the importance of IPv6, network security, internet measurements, and best practices for improving network resilience, including infrastructure for government digital services and critical systems.
The organization also highlighted the availability of educational programs, technical workshops, and international certification opportunities for specialists from Uzbekistan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides expressed readiness to further expand cooperation in internet infrastructure, including IPv6 development, enhanced cybersecurity, and strengthened network resilience.
