Uzbekistan presents investment potential at Shanghai conference

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A presentation on Uzbekistan’s investment potential was held in Shanghai during the conference “Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation and Exchanges between Shanghai and Belt and Road regions,” according to the Dunyo news agency.

The event aimed to create a platform for high-level dialogue, strengthen consensus on open international cooperation, and discuss current economic and trade issues. More than 200 leading Chinese companies took part in the conference.

During a panel session, representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai presented detailed information on investment opportunities in the country, highlighting infrastructure potential and existing mechanisms for supporting foreign investors.

Special attention was given to business incentives, including tax and tariff preferences, export support measures, and opportunities to access the markets of Central Asia, the CIS, and the European Union via Uzbekistan.

Participants were also introduced to priority areas for cooperation, including tourism, green energy, information technology, the textile industry, agro-industrial complex, logistics, and pharmaceuticals.

On the sidelines of the event, meetings were held with several Chinese companies that expressed interest in cooperation with Uzbek partners.

In addition, agreements were reached to organize visits of delegations to Uzbekistan for further exploration of investment opportunities.
