Uzbekistan, Czech Republic hold business forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbek-Czech business forum was held in Tashkent with the participation of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade.

The event was attended by the prime ministers of Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, Abdullah Aripov and Andrej Babis.

The forum brought together more than 200 participants and served as a platform to discuss prospects for expanding economic cooperation.

It was noted that trade turnover between the two countries has doubled over the past eight years. Currently, 37 enterprises with Czech capital are operating in Uzbekistan, forming a solid foundation for further partnership development.

Particular attention was paid to Uzbekistan’s investment potential. It was emphasized that the country’s gross domestic product exceeded US$145 billion in 2025.

Czech companies expressed interest in expanding their presence in industry and the transport sector, viewing Uzbekistan as a strategic platform for entering Central Asian markets.

Following the forum, a package of cooperation agreements was signed in the fields of engineering, infrastructure modernization and education. An important component of the agreements involves cooperation with the Czech Export Bank and the EGAP export credit agency, providing mechanisms for preferential financing and risk insurance for joint high-tech projects.

The forum concluded with a series of direct negotiations in G2B and B2B formats involving business representatives and financial institutions, during which the parties agreed on next steps for implementing joint initiatives.
