Uzbekistan approves transit transport protocol with Romania

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on 14 May 2026 approving a protocol on amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of road transit transport between Uzbekistan and Romania.

The protocol was signed in Tashkent on 27 November 2025 and introduces amendments to the basic agreement concluded on 6 June 1996 in Bucharest.

The Ministry of Transport has been designated as the competent authority responsible for the practical implementation of the international treaty.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to send an official notification to the Romanian side confirming that Uzbekistan has completed all necessary domestic procedures for the document’s entry into force, as well as to inform it of the designated responsible agency.
