Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, professor and public figure Rustam Khudaybergenov will represent the country at an international festival scheduled to take place on 2 May 2026, in the Jetisu region of Kazakhstan.

The event is dedicated to the blooming of Sievers apple trees and brings together artists, scientists, and environmental experts from various countries.

The Jetisu region is considered the genetic homeland of all apple varieties on the planet, while the flowering period of wild orchards in the foothills of the Dzungarian Alatau is regarded as a unique natural phenomenon of international significance.

Khudaybergenov noted that participating in the festival is a great honour and an opportunity to represent Uzbekistan on an international cultural platform. According to him, art serves as an important bridge between peoples, while the region’s natural landscape inspires reflection on shared history and the need to preserve ecological heritage.

The festival programme includes an international open-air art exhibition featuring artists from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye.

It also features concert performances, demonstrations of strength records, an ethnographic zone with traditional crafts and national games, as well as interactive cultural platforms.

A separate part of the event will be an information tour of the Sievers apple blossom sites in the Sarkand district, in the “Plity” area. The festival will conclude with an award ceremony for participants of the international art competition.

Organisers say the event aims to promote ecological tourism and draw attention to biodiversity conservation in Central Asia.
