Tashkent Hosts Future Engineers Festival

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent hosted the international “Future Engineers” festival, organized at the initiative of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The event served as a platform to showcase engineering solutions, technological developments, and the innovative potential of young people.

The festival brought together thousands of participants, including representatives of higher education institutions, international experts, and young developers from various countries.

Akiko Fujii, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uzbekistan, took part in the forum.

In her remarks, she emphasized that the development of a knowledge-based economy is of strategic importance for Uzbekistan. According to her, engineering and STEM fields are key drivers of sustainable economic growth.

She also highlighted the importance of investing in human capital, expanding opportunities for young people, and creating conditions for greater participation of women and girls in technology-related professions.

The UNDP representative noted that the organization is already implementing initiatives aimed at developing digital skills, supporting internships, and increasing women’s participation in STEM fields.

UNDP intends to continue supporting Uzbekistan in developing its innovation ecosystem, training a new generation of engineers, and promoting inclusive development.
