Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Serbia discussed expanding cooperation in employment and labor policy during a meeting between First Deputy Minister for Poverty Reduction and Employment Marat Jurayev and Serbia’s Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans Affairs and Social Policy Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski.

The sides focused on issues of workforce training aligned with modern labor market requirements, as well as improving systems for assessing and recognizing professional skills. They also discussed the digitalization of employment services and improving the efficiency of job placement mechanisms.

Special attention was given to support for youth and women, as well as the integration of persons with disabilities into the labor market. During the talks, the sides considered prospects for developing tools to ensure decent working conditions and strengthen social protection.

In addition, discussions covered improving mechanisms for labor rights protection, developing social dialogue, and promoting international standards in the field of employment.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation.
