Namangan to host 65th International Flower Festival
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 24 May to 12 July, Namangan will host the 65th International Flower Festival, which traditionally brings together cultural, tourism, and business initiatives. The event is organised by the Tourism Committee and the regional administration of Namangan.
The programme includes more than 150 national and international events, such as cultural and educational projects, theatre and circus performances, gala concerts, fashion shows, an industrial fair, and other activities.
The festival attracts thousands of visitors from Uzbekistan and abroad each year and is regarded as one of the largest cultural events in the region.
This year’s preparations include an attempt to set a Guinness World Records entry in the category of “largest number of flowers planted in one month by a single team.” More than 150 million flowers representing around 120 plant species are currently being planted across the city.
The initiative is aimed not only at achieving a record but also at strengthening Namangan’s international image, improving environmental conditions, fostering civic engagement, and enhancing the significance of the anniversary festival.
The opening ceremony will traditionally begin with a flower-decorated car parade. More than 200 vehicles will travel through the city’s main streets along a route exceeding 10 kilometres, from Namangan International Airport to the Babur Cultural and Recreation Park.
The main venue will be Babur Park, where floral compositions, design installations, and artistic projects created by participants from various countries and regions will be displayed. Organisers note that each exhibition combines aesthetic value with elements reflecting the cultural identity of the region.
The festival will also feature international events, including a forum on Namangan’s tourism potential with influencers, an Asian Women Business Forum, the third international handicraft exhibition, the “Cinema Caravan” project, the Makom Art Forum, international ethnosport games, and India Culture Days with Bollywood performances.
In addition, sporting events will be held as part of the national Mahalla Forum under the slogan “A well-developed mahalla is a well-developed country.”
