Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Swedish company Ferrit have discussed the possibility of launching mining equipment production in Uzbekistan as part of broader investment cooperation in the geological and mining sectors.

The issue was discussed on 15 May during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Akram Aliyev and Ferrit Regional Director Dmitry Nagorny.

The parties reviewed prospects for localizing the production of mining equipment and expanding technological cooperation.

Founded in 1993, Ferrit specializes in the design and manufacture of mining machinery, underground logistics systems, and tunneling solutions.

In 2024, the company ranked among the world’s 50 largest manufacturers of equipment for the mining sector. Ferrit operates an international network of branches and service centers in nine countries, including China, Poland, Mexico, and Kazakhstan.

During the talks, Ferrit representatives positively assessed Uzbekistan’s investment climate and expressed interest in implementing projects in the country’s geological and mining industries.

The sides also discussed the introduction of modern technologies and increasing the production of high value-added industrial products.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a joint working group that will prepare mechanisms for investment cooperation and advance the discussed initiatives toward practical implementation.
