Uzbekistan tourism adopts project management system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is introducing a new project management system in the tourism sector. Under the new approach, work in each region will be structured along a systematic chain: “attractive location — project — infrastructure — entrepreneur — promotion — tourist.”
Within this framework, master plans are expected to be developed for 34 major tourism sites, along with the creation and development of 31 tourism locations.
In particular, a tourism development project for the “Kipchak fishing village” complex will be implemented in the Amu Darya district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan under the project management system.
To ensure systematic development of tourism sites and their operation based on individual master plans, a state institution called the “Project Office for Tourism Infrastructure Development” is being established under the Committee on Tourism.
In addition, an additional 450 billion soums will be allocated for the development of tourism infrastructure in the regions.
As a result, the total funding allocated this year for tourism infrastructure development will amount to 950 billion soums.
