Uzbekistan Takes Part in CIS Legal Dialogue in Minsk

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An international legal forum of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Minsk, marking the 35th anniversary of the organization’s establishment. Uzbekistan was represented at the event through a video address delivered by Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The forum brought together representatives of government bodies, international and regional organizations, as well as academic and expert communities from CIS member states.

In his address, Saidov emphasized the special importance of international legal dialogue as a key instrument for strengthening mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation among CIS countries. He also highlighted the relevance of further developing collaboration in the field of human rights across the Commonwealth.

Participants of the forum stressed the role of international law in ensuring sustainable development, maintaining peace and security, and promoting universal principles of human rights, the rule of law, and justice.

Special attention was given to the importance of experience-sharing and coordination in improving national legal systems, advancing legal education, and strengthening institutional mechanisms for the protection of human rights and freedoms.

The forum served as an important platform for discussing pressing legal issues related to the further development of multilateral cooperation within the CIS, as well as for formulating joint approaches to addressing modern challenges in the legal and human rights spheres.
