Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, held a meeting with representatives of the Chinese company Walvax Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

Founded in 2001, Walvax Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is a leading biopharmaceutical enterprise specializing in the development, creation, and production of high-quality vaccines. To date, Walvax has developed nine licensed vaccines, including PCV13, HPV2, and meningococcal vaccines. The company’s four production facilities are capable of producing up to 390 million doses of vaccines annually. Walvax products are supplied to 31 provinces across China and exported to 18 countries.

During the meeting, Walvax proposed establishing joint vaccine production in Uzbekistan. Drawing on its experience in technology transfer, the company expressed its readiness to support the development of local vaccine manufacturing capacity and ensure stable vaccine supply. This collaboration would help secure vaccine provision for Uzbekistan’s National Immunization Program and expand vaccination coverage across Central Asia and the CIS countries.

Abdulla Azizov emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with leading companies like Walvax and affirmed his readiness to support initiatives aimed at advancing the pharmaceutical sector in the country.

Following the meeting, both sides agreed to continue information exchange and further develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
