Uzbek, Russian Interior Ministries sign cooperation protocol

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdusalam Azizov and Minister of Interior Affairs of Russia Vladimir Kolokoltsov today signed a protocol on cooperation for 2017-2018.
The document was signed in Tashkent during working visit of the Minister of Interior Affairs of Russia Vladimir Kolokoltsev to Uzbekistan.
Vladimir Kolokoltsev said that the document defines further development of Russian-Uzbek cooperation in law enforcement, and allows a systematic approach to combating crime in the territories of the two countries.
During the meeting in Tashkent, Abdusalam Azizov and Vladimir Kolokoltsev discussed the priority issues of cooperation, including the state and prospects of cooperation in exchanging information in the fight against terrorism, extremism, illegal migration and in search activities.
The sides considered issues of opening office of Russian Interior Affairs Ministry in Uzbekistan and informing its activities among population.
Kolokoltsov said that Uzbekistan and Russia in the near future should intensify work of two joint working groups: to combat illegal migration and to address issues related to work and protection of the rights of migrant workers.
