Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — For the first time, Yandex Uzbekistan is opening Development Schools in Tashkent for students and young professionals. With the rapid advancement of technology and the growing interest in the IT field, these schools will provide an excellent opportunity for young people to gain practical knowledge and skills in mobile and backend development.

The training programs include lectures, practical tasks, and teamwork on real business challenges in Yandex services. The schools are aimed at those who want to deepen their programming knowledge. The best students will have the chance to start their careers with the company.

The training will be held in person and will take place in two stages. In the first stage, students will attend lectures by Yandex experts, participate in workshops, and complete practical assignments. Each student will have a mentor, allowing for a more immersive experience in the profession.

Students who successfully complete the first stage will apply their acquired knowledge in practice. In the second stage, they will form teams and work on projects at the Yandex office under the guidance of an experienced mentor.

The school programs will be developed by Yandex employees, who will also serve as instructors and mentors. To enroll in the school, applicants need to submit an application and complete a test task by October 13. Those who successfully complete the tasks will be invited for an interview. The selection results will be announced on October 23–24, with the training starting on October 28.

Yandex has been running development schools since 2011. Since then, 72 schools have been held, with over 3,500 participants. More than half of the graduates become interns and employees of the company, highlighting the effectiveness of this educational initiative.
