Yandex Programming School: New Opportunities for Samarkand students

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first classes have started at the Yandex Programming School. The training will take place in person at the Wepro school, twice a week for one and a half hours per session.

During the lessons, high school students will be introduced to the basics of development using the Python programming language. The students will study key concepts, structures, and libraries of the language.

Participation in the project is completely free. Following entrance exams, 14 students were admitted to the school.

"Investing in the development and education of the next generation is an important part of the joint efforts of the state and business. Learning programming from a young age is the key to the future success of young Uzbeks and their competitiveness in the labor market," commented the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov.

"Thanks to this project, our students will have the opportunity to learn from experts, with access to modern resources and practical experience. We are confident that this partnership will help many young specialists take their first step into IT and contribute to the digital development of the region," said Shahzodbek Khomidov, co-founder of the Wepro IT school network.

The Yandex Programming School is an international project aimed at teaching students aged 14-17 the basics of programming in Python. In Uzbekistan, the project first launched in Tashkent in 2023. In 2024, the Programming School expanded to Samarkand and Urgench. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and Yandex Go.
