Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The world’s largest cylindrical aquarium 14 meters high with 1,500 exotic fish burst in Berlin. About 1 million liters of water spilled into the hall and onto the street. The luxury complex and aquarium were designed in 2004 by Russian architect Sergei Tchoban.

In Berlin, the world’s largest cylindrical aquarium 14 m high, AquaDom, located in the Radisson Hotel, burst, Reuters reported. About 1 million liters of water (more than 264,000 gallons) spilled into the hotel lobby and onto the street.

The aquarium is located in the luxury complex DomAquaree in the central district of Mitte, 1500 exotic fish swam in it. In addition to the Radisson Hotel, the complex houses a museum, shops and restaurants. “In addition to the incredible loss of marine life, two people were injured by glass fragments,” the Berlin police said on Twitter.

A spokesman for the Berlin fire brigade said that the rescuers had not yet managed to get to the first floor of the building because of the debris, search and rescue dogs were sent to the scene. He added that it is still unclear what caused the incident.
