Work begins on a book-album dedicated to the rarities of Uzbekistan in the collections of Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A working group of the project "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the world's collections" under the leadership of a member of the Board of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan are working to systematize and comment on all well-known objects related to Central Asia found on the territory of Korea.

A preliminary catalog of objects of material culture has already been assembled. Images and annotations of Central Asian masterpieces provided by scholars from museums in Korea. 

The collection of the future book-album includes jewelry, weapons and various metal products, glass vessels, stone figurines and other rarities of the Kushan and Sogdian eras. At the moment, work is being completed on the text of the book.

The book will tell readers from different countries about the historical ties of Koreans in Central Asia, and the Koreans of Uzbekistan - about the role of their homeland on the Great Silk Road, which connected various cultures of ancient times, will give a new impetus to the study of Korean culture, art, literature and history of this wonderful country. which made a huge contribution to the development of contacts on the Great Silk Road and will serve the cause of the cultural renaissance of the peoples of multinational Uzbekistan.

The presentation of the book-album "Korea and Central Asia on the Great Silk Road" will take place until the end of 2021.
