Within next 5-10 years historical monuments of Samarkand and Bukhara will be restored
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Government of Uzbekistan approved the Programme until 2015 for research, conservation, restoration and usage of objects of the cultural heritage of Samarkand.

Over the next 5 years about 6.14 billion sums will be allocated for the funding of the Programm from the national budget and additional sources of the local budget of Samarkand region, including private donors.

The funds will be spent on research and restoration of 22 historical monuments of Samarkand. In particular, for the restoration work at the famous mausoleum Ishrathona (XIV century) will be allocated 1.48 billion soums and Bibi Khanum complex (XIV-XV century) - 1 billion soums.

Let’s remind you that in March of previous year similar 10-year old program was approved by the Resolution of the Government of Uzbekistan for the research, preservation and restoration of cultural heritage of another historical city of Uzbekistan – Bukhara. This program will also restore a total of 25 madrasas, 41 mosques, 12 caravan - serais, 10 mausoleums and 5 architectural complexes in Bukhara.
