Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For the first time in London Uzbekistan Film Commission with the support of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized a national stand at the “Focus-Location Guide” an international film exhibition.
The main meeting place for film, television and advertising producers has been gathering more than 200 speakers and delegates from all around the world for the exchange of experience and proposals in the field of film production.
As the only event in the UK where major film companies from more than 80 countries take part, the “Focus-Location Guidе” plays a decisive role in choosing locations for upcoming film projects.
To ensure that, it is fully consistent with the industry, the Focus-Location Guide has been developed in consultation with leading organizations, including the British Film Institute, the British Film Commission, the Association of Advertising Producers, the Production Guild, “Creative Skillset”, the Union of Motion Picture Films of Great Britain, and “Creative Europe Media Desk UK” and “Women in Film and TV”.
This year, with the support of the Uzbekistan State Committee for Tourism Development, Uzbekistan had the opportunity to become part of this event, demonstrate the country's potential in the international film project market, as well as take part in seminars, master classes and attend lectures by the best speakers in the film and television industry.
Also, as part of the international exhibition, representatives of the Uzbekistan Film Commission held meetings with specialists from such world film companies as “Action Plus Media”, “A Infinity A Films”, “Directors Guild of America”, “Film LBBD” and where the advantages of filming in Uzbekistan were discussed and prospects for joint projects.
“We are very pleased to welcome Uzbekistan in our exhibition. The country's progress in the field of film production is very noticeable. Implementation of the rebate in Uzbekistan will be a great discovery for the Western countries' film industry. A variety of landscapes, good specialists and the introduction of the rebate system have a great potential in the field of film production”- said Clara Lee, general manager of the “Focus-Location Guide”, who visited the stand of Uzbekistan at opening of the exhibition.
The presentation held on December 4 at the stand of Uzbekistan familiarized exhibitors and interested filmmakers with the “rebate” system aimed at developing cooperation with foreign film companies.
National stand of Uzbekistan at the “Focus-Location Guide” was organized in accordance with the decree of the President of Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for the further development of the tourism sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
This year, Uzbekistan National Film Commission participated in major international film events such as the “European Film Market” (Berlinale), “Marché Du Film” (Festival De Cannes), “FILMART” (Hong Kong International Film &), “Asian Film Market” (Busan IFF), “American Film Market”, “Hainan Island IFF” and the “Focus-Location Guide” in order to promote our locations and develop film tourism.
