Winter Olympic Games in Sochi officially closed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 22nd Winter Olympic Games officially closed in Sochi, Russia, on 23 February. The closing ceremony of the Games was held at Fisht stadium.

Spectators of the Closing Ceremony at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games once again met Lubov (Love), the young girl who was already introduced during the Opening Ceremony. Along with her new friends Valentina and Yura, she traveled through Russian culture, turning the pages of Russian literature, enjoying the magic of Russian art and listening to the wonderful sounds of Russian music.

The audience was presented with a European vision of Russia, in a show directed by world-renowned director Daniele Finzi Pasca who became the screenwriter and director of the Sochi Olympics Closing Ceremony after joining a Russian team, which also included creative director Konstantin Ernst and executive producer Andrei Nasonovskiy.

A part of the Closing Ceremony was dedicated to handing the Olympic flag over to the host of the future Winter Games – the city of PyeongChang.

International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach announced that the Sochi Olympic Games are closed.

Over 5,500 Olympians and members of national teams of around 90 countries took part in the 22nd Winter Games in Sochi.

Russia secured the first place in the Sochi medal table with 33 medals, of which 13 were gold medals. Norway was second with 11 gold medals and Canada was third with 10 gold medals.

Ksenya Grigoryeva and Artem Voronov (slalom and giant slalom), and Misha Ge (figure skating) represented Uzbekistan at the Sochi Games.

Misha Ge claimed the 17th place in figure skating at Olympics. Ksenya Grigoryeva was on 64th place in giant slalom and could not finish in slalom competitions. Artem Voronov finished on 67 in giant slalom and 39th place in slalom contests.
