Winner of National Contest “The Women of the Year” announced
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Results of the Third National Contest “The Women of the Year”, which was announced in October 2010 by the National Public Union Jenskoye Sobraniye (Women Council), were summed at the Center of national art in Tashkent on 20 December 2010.

Gulnara Karimov, chairperson of Jenskoye Sobraniye and author of the contest, awarded the winner of the contest “The Women of the Year”. She handed over Matiz car, exclusive vase and diploma to Saida Mirzarakhimova from Chirchiq city of Tashkent region.

The first stage of the Center of national art was occupied with exhibition-fair of products of women, participants of Mehr Nuri Foundation, SISF and finalists of the contest “The Women of the Year”. Among presented products were food goods, textile products, clothes, and others.

The awarding ceremony was held with concert. Singers Sardor Rahimkon, Zulayho Bayhanova, Mahmud Namazoc, Ozodbek Nazarbekov and Farrukh Zakirov and others presented their songs to finalists of competition.

Saida Mirzarakhimova is chief doctor of Children Medical Center in Chirchiq. She said she participated in the contest for the first time. “I am happy that I won this contest and I want express great gratitude to Jenskoye Sobraniye for their support and what they do for women across Uzbekistan.”

National Contest “The Women of the Year” is organized in Uzbekistan to support women, dedicating themselves to family and achieving professional heights. The project was organized for the first time in 2007 and attracted attention of women of Uzbekistan. During three years, the project attracted over 62,121 applications (6,298 applications in 2007, 27,120 in 2009 and 28,703 in 2010).
