WHO: over the past day, 11 335 patients with a diagnosis of COVID-19 died in the world

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 163 million 869 thousand, of which more than 3 million 398 thousand people have died (as of 15:28 CET on 19 May 2021).

Over the past day, 546,512 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in the world, 11,335 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 10:20 am Tashkent time on May 20, 2021), more than 164 million 913 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 3 million 417 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 32.647 million infected have been identified.

In second place is India (over 25.496 million), in third place is Brazil (over 15.657 million), in fourth - France (5.802 million), in fifth - in Turkey (5.139 million).

According to the WHO, over the past 24 hours, 23 942 new cases were registered in the United States, 267 334 in India, 29 916 in Brazil, 16 288 in France and 11 937 in Turkey.

According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, more than 1 billion 536 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide.
