WHO: over 8 thousand people died from COVID-19 in a day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 113 million 467 thousand, of which more than 2 million 520 thousand people have died (as of 17:31 CET on 28 February 2021 ). Over the past day, 384,956 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in the world, 8,230 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 10:23 am Tashkent time on March 1, 2021), more than 114 million 067 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 2 million 530 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 28.174 million infected have been identified. In second place is India (over 11.096 million), in third - Brazil (over 10.455 million), in fourth - Russia (4.246 million), in fifth - Great Britain (4.170 million).

According to WHO, over the past 24 hours, 72,812 new cases were registered in the United States, 16,752 in India, 65,169 in Brazil, 11,359 in Russia, and 7,434 in the UK.
