WHO: over 326,000 new cases of COVID-19 infection detected in the world over the past day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 111 million 762 thousand, of which more than 2 million 479 thousand people have died (as of 16:48 CET on 24 February 2021).

Over the past day, 326,531 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the world, 8,384 patients have died.

According to actual data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 9:23 am Tashkent time on 25 February 2021), more than 112 million 536 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 2 million 497 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 27.883 million infected have been identified. In second place is India (over 11.030 million), in third - Brazil (over 10.195 million), in fourth - Russia (4.200 million), in fifth - Great Britain (4.134 million).

According to the WHO, over the past 24 hours, 55,190 new cases were registered in the United States, 13,742 in India, 26,986 in Brazil, 11,749 in Russia and 8,489 in the UK.
