Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11-16 January 2020, the "Week of Uzbek National Cinema" will be organized at the Palace of Youth Creativity within the framework of the month "New Uzbekistan and National Cinematography".
During the week, presentations of new film projects, master classes for young people, round tables, auditions and conferences, as well as premieres of new films are planned.
In addition, creative meetings with famous filmmakers and a dialogue with the population about the history and present day of Uzbek cinema will be organized throughout the Republic. At the end of the meetings, a number of historical and feature films will be shown free of charge.
This week will be held to fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Head of State during his visit to the renewed Uzbekfilm film studio in November 2020. During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined the path for the development of the industry and set a number of tasks and instructions for filmmakers.
Within the framework of the Film Week, experts and specialists will adopt the "Road Map" of Uzbekkino for 2021 on such important tasks as opening a branch of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography in Tashkent for young filmmakers, organizing the Tashkent International Film Festival, and returning Uzbek films stored abroad , creating conditions and opportunities for young filmmakers.
“In the implementation of the tasks set, there was a need for proposals and recommendations from representatives of the sphere, experts and participants in new projects. It is important to develop this roadmap not in ‘offices’, but in discussions with the film community,” said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of the Uzbekkino National Agency.
Also during the week, the Days of National Animation, Documentary and Feature Films, as well as the Day of Young Filmmakers will be held. Every day of the week consists of more than a dozen interesting events and meetings, several castings and pitches, round tables and creative meetings on topical topics of the film industry, and at the end of each day new premieres will be screened.
