Vladimir Norov takes office as SCO Secretary General

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From January 1, 2019, Vladimir Norov assumed the post of Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

It should be noted that the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization made a corresponding decision in the summer of 2018.

Prior to this, Vladimir Norov was Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He has the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
