VimpelCom Director-General Alexander Torbahov and Executive Vice-President on development of business in the CIS Dmitriy Pleskonos
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Single communication operator Beeline (Unitel LLC and Buzton JV LLC) announced about familiarization visit of top management of VimpelCom Group to Uzbekistan. The delegation included VimpelCom Director-General Alexander Torbahov, Chief Executive Officer Boris Nemsic and Executive Vice-President on development of business in the CIS Dmitriy Pleskonos.

Commenting the visit, VimpelCom Director-General Alexander Torbahov said: “I am happy to be in Uzbekistan, where Beeline traditionally holds one of the leading positions in telecommunication industry. During our work in this market, we actively invested in construction of network and development of infrastructure. Today, I can say with confidence that investments to our business in Uzbekistan will continue.”

Chief Executive Officer Boris Nemsic noted: “One of the priorities for us is to continue integration of mobile and fixed business in those markets, where VimpelCom has corresponding assets. Today, these processes completed in Uzbekistan: fixed communication and broadband service access rendered under Beeline brand. It is pleasure for us that Beeline achieved reputation of quality service operator and we will do all to keep this slat. On the result of the working meetings with Unitel and Buzton management, we adopted decision on new stage of wide-scale expansion of GSM network and active promotion of broadband access on FTTB and 3G technologies in Uzbekistan.”

Summing up the results, Executive Vice-President on development of business in the CIS Dmitriy Pleskonos said: “Uzbekistan is one of important markets in the CIS space for us. During three years of Beeline operations in Uzbekistan, it achieved great success and today it is important to keep these achievements and keep growth rates. In condition of rising competition, it will be difficult to achieve this, but I am sure the team, which used to win, can do any tasks.”
