VimpelCom launches LTE network in Kazakhstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- KaR-Tel, a company of VimpelCom Ltd and rendering services under Beeline brand in Kazakhstan, announced a oilot launch of ourdoor 4G network on LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology in diapason of 700 MHz in Almaty, financial capital of Kazakhstan. Alcatel-Lucent supplied equipment for network.

The operator said that LTE network covers central regions of Almaty. The users can test quality of services at LTE-mobile, laboratory on wheels. The LTE-mobile equipped with all necessary equipment. The LTE network can ensure 60 Mbps download speed and 15 Mbps upload speed. The average speed is 8-10 Mbps (download) and 2-4 Mbps (upload).

LTE technology is the main direction of evaluation of 3G and 2G and it provides opportunity to expand productivity of equipment, coverage areas and improve service quality, including high speed Internet.

Dmitriy Kromskiy, vice-president of VimpelCom Ltd on development of business in the CIS, said that LTE technology, first of all, is a speed and the company is happy that VimpelCom business in Kazakhstan is developing with the speed of the fourth generation. The 4G network became the first in the CIS area, which was deployed at 700 MHz diapason.
