VFS Global to Expand Network and Launch Mobile Visa Services in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Shubham Mishra, Regional Director for CIS and Eastern Europe at VFS Global, and Temur Tuychiev, Head of the company's office in Uzbekistan.
The discussions focused on VFS Global’s plans to expand its presence across Uzbekistan. A key topic was the introduction of a new service format — mobile visa appointments based on group requests. This paid service aims to simplify the visa support process for residents of remote regions by eliminating the need to travel to the company's offices in Tashkent and Samarkand.
The parties also addressed the issue of facilitating visa procedures for Uzbek citizens traveling to countries without diplomatic missions in Uzbekistan. These include Canada, Argentina, Australia, and others.
Due to the absence of accredited consulates, visa applications for these countries often involve additional time and financial costs.
In response, the Uzbek side proposed partially localizing visa procedures in Uzbekistan, such as enabling biometric data collection and online interviews through local VFS Global offices.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties confirmed their shared interest in expanding cooperation, jointly launching new initiatives, and further improving the quality of visa services for Uzbek citizens.
