Vakhtang Kikabidze passes away at the age of 84

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Soviet and Georgian actor, singer and film director Vakhtang Kikabidze has died, the Mtavari Arkhi TV channel reported on 15 January. The actor died at the age of 84. In recent years he has been seriously ill.

Vakhtang Kikabidze was born in Tbilisi. In 1966, he became a member of the Orera ensemble, and soon acted in films for the first time - he got a role in the film Meeting in the Mountains. A year later, he was invited to play in Georgy Danelia’s film "Don’t Cry!" The work of the artist was appreciated and Kikabidze was awarded the prize for the best male role of the International Film Festival in Cartagena.

Then there was a role in the musical comedy Melodies of the Veriysky Quarter. And in 1977, the audience saw the film "Mimino", where Vakhtang Kikabidze appeared in the image of pilot Valentin Mizandari.
