Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Uztextileprom Association between Chairman Mirmukhsiin Sultanov and the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uzbekistan, Akiko Fujii.
During the meeting, key issues related to sustainable development and the implementation of decent work practices in the textile industry were discussed. Special attention was given to developing a strategy to increase the export of Uzbek textile products to Europe, including entry into new markets, adherence to international standards, and the development of branding initiatives.
The parties also discussed the possibility of organizing joint trade missions and participating in international textile fairs to promote Uzbek textiles on the global stage.
Akiko Fujii also confirmed UNDP’s interest in participating in upcoming events scheduled for September 2024, including the ITMF & IAF Conference and the Global Textile Dialogue.
