UZSE’s turnover reaches 2.8 bn soums in May

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turnover of Uzbekistan Stock Exchange “Tashkent” (UZSE) was 2.8 billion soums in May 2013, which fell by 1.4 times year-on-year.

In the reporting period, the exchange recorded 67 deals with 3.3 million shares of 26 issuers.

In particular, the exchange’s corporate bonds placement platform registered four deals worth 65.6 million soums, listed companies platform – 31 deals for 1.934 billion soums, non-listed companies – 27 deals for 195.3 million soums, corporate bonds circulation – 3 deals for 231 million soums and repo – two deals for 362.5 million soums.

Overall, the secondary market recorded 2.7 billion soums or 97.6% of total turnover. Share of IPO market was 2.4% or 0.07 billion soums.

The average size of the deals in May was 41.6 million soums (32.4 million soums in May 2012). The average daily size of the deal is 139.4 million soums (172.3 million soums in May 2012). The average price of one share was 853.4 soums (490.6 soums).

Largest deal of the month was registered on 13 May 2013 with the securities of Turkiston Bank. Within the deal, some 554,700 shares were sold for 554.7 million soums.

The securities of financial institutions – banks and insurance companies – were highly demanded in May 2013.

Their share in total turnover was 90.8% or 2.5 billion soums in May, including banks – 78.8% or 2.2 billion soms and insurance companies – 12% or 0.3 billion soums. The investors also interested in shares of agriculture industrial sector – 3.7% or 0.1 billion soums – and construction enterprises – 3.5% or 0.1 billion soums.
