UZSE trades securities for US$1.52m in May 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of deals with shares at the Uzbekistan stock exchange “Tashkent” (UZSE) increased by 1.5 times in May compared to April and it made 2.39 billion soums (US$1.52 million at the official CBU exchange rate).

Volume of Repo deals made 26.39 million soums (US$16,790 at the CBU exchange rate). There were no deals in hard currency platform at the UzSE in May.

Total volume of deals with shares increased in 1.5 times comparing to the previous month and made US$1.52 million at the CBU exchange rate.

Total volume of deals in January – May decreased by 3.7 times compared to the previous year and made US$5.38 million at the CBU exchange rate.

Share of the secondary market in national currency platform accounted 99% of deals at the UZSE, while REPO deals - 1%. There were no IPOs and hard currency deals in May.

Financial companies accounted 39% from total deals, banks – 14%, agricultural companies – 7%, retail companies – 1%.

Leader of the month on the volume was UNITRUST MANAGEMENT JSC. Total volume of deals with the shares of the company made up US$596,700. Alskom JSC was in the second place. Total volume of deals made US$248,100. Hamkorbank claimed the third place with total volume of US$210,300.

The largest deal of the month was deal with securities of UNITRUST MANAGEMENT JSC in national currency platform, which was registered on 14 May. The volume of deal made up US$311,700.

Shares of Hamkorbank JSC were traded during 4 days – the longest period comparing to other companies. Total volume of deals with shares of Hamkor bank JSC made US$210,300 at the CBU exchange rate at last price of 100 soums (US$0.06 at the CBU exchange rate) per share.

Second leader is UNITRUST MANAGEMENT JSC with 2 trading days and US$569,700 at the CBU exchange rate at last price of 1,000 soums (US$0.63 at the CBU exchange rate) per share.
