The fair was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade, as well as the Academy of Science of Uzbekistan. Over 600 prospective scientific developments and technologies created by Uzbekistan’s scientific institutions and universities are being demonstrated at the first national innovative ideas and projects fair.

The fair participants include ministries, departments, economic associations, banks, large and small enterprises, farms, scientific and educational establishments, as well as international organizations and financial structures.

UzSciNet is a joint project of the UNDP and Academy of Science of Uzbekistan and it aimed at facilitation of Uzbekistan’s further integration into the global information community by providing Internet access and relevant training to the population, which are vital to create an open society and sustainable human development.

Vadim Novotny, UzSciNet project manager, said the fair allowed the project to present its innovative services and products, including trainings on ICT tools and Internet services. He added that the fair helped the project raise awareness of the government bodies, academia and population on its activities.
