The report said that few days left till launch of GSM network of UZMOBILE in the regional centers of Uzbekistan. It added that the GSM network will be launched stage-by-stage in the regional centers from 1 December 2015.

The newspaper recalled that UZMOBILE has been working in Tashkent city and Tashkent region from 1 December 2015. UZMOBILE plans to cover all settlements in Uzbekistan with GSM network by 2018.

UZMOBILE installed hundreds new base stations in the regions. In seven months of 2015, several tens thousands of people subscribed to UZMOBILE.

President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On measures on organization of the activities of national operator of mobile communication” on 12 February 2014.

Branch of Uzbektelecom, Uzmobile, received status of national operator of mobile communication of Uzbekistan, which should develop mobile communication services and GSM network across Uzbekistan, as well as ensure information security.

In line with the resolution, Uzmobile will develop GSM network across Uzbekistan. The operator plans to expand GSM network across Uzbekistan in 2016-2017 with introduction of 2G/3G and 4G technologies.

At the same time, UzMobile will continue to use and further develop CDMA-450 EV-DO network. This year, the company plans to continue to expand CDMA network. Currently, UZMOBILE’s CDMA network covers 85% of all settlements in Uzbekistan, while number of subscribers makes up about 500,000 people.
