UZMOBILE subscribers’ number exceeds 200,000 users
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of subscribers of UZMOBILE, a CDMA 450 mobile communication operator of Uzbektelecom, exceeded 200,000 users, the First Deputy Director-General of Uzbektelecom Kahramon Yuldoshev said.

As reported earlier, number of subscribers of UZMOBILE was 94,110 users in 2011 and grew by 1.84 times year-on-year. The growth rate in 2012 made up 2.13 times.

Kahramon Yuldoshev underlined that the company installed 140 basic stations and constructed five switching center in 2012.

In the result, number of settlements, covered with mobile network of UZMOBILE, reached 8,440, while network coverage level hit 71%, he said.

Yuldoshev said that UZMOBILE stated to implement a project “Development of CDMA-450 mobile network in Uzbekistan, including rural areas, with use of EVDO technologies. Within the project, additional 201 basic stations will be installed across Uzbekistan and CDMA-450 coverage level will grow to 84%.

The cost of the project, which will be implemented in 2013-2014, makes up US$18.19 million. China Development Bank will issue loan for US$18.19 million to its implementation. Uzbektelcom will invest US$6.79 million to development of CDMA-450 mobile network with introduction of EVDO technologies in regions of Uzbekistan.

Uzbektelecom is largest telecommunication operator of Uzbekistan, which renders such services as fixed and mobile telephone services, international and long-distance calls, voice and data transfer, etc.

The company renders its services under three sub-brands – UZTELECOM, UZMOBILE and UZONLINE. The company has 22 branches, of which 14 regional, 8 specialized and three subsidiary enterprises.
