Uzkomnazorat recommends ignoring fake messages

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- When a user unknowingly downloads and installs the specified program, attackers will have the opportunity to infect the computer with a special malicious program.

Uzkomnazorat State Inspectorate has repeatedly stated that during the ongoing quarantine in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection around the world, attackers are increasingly trying to trick people in various ways through the Internet, calling on a mobile phone, in front of ATMs, also steal funds from electronic accounts.

New schemes of fraud by attackers have appeared - when a user reads news or watches videos on the Internet, a small warning message appears in the bottom corner of the browser, indicating that the user’s computer is in danger, there are technical problems, it is necessary to install a special program for their elimination or a special driver necessary for the operation of the operating system. To do this, the user is invited to follow a special link and download the program.

When a user unknowingly downloads and installs the specified program, attackers have the opportunity to infect the computer with a special malicious program, copy or delete the necessary data on the computer.

A similar type of fraud is observed on mobile devices - a false warning appears about the need for software updates to avoid possible blocking of the mobile device. The user, believing that he is downloading a safe and reliable update, can unknowingly install malicious software.

Uzkomnazorat strongly recommends that you ignore such “fake” messages appearing on various sites or coming to e-mail, immediately delete them, if possible, do not use information resources that spread false messages, download and update antivirus software only from official sources, regularly scan software for malware.
