UZEX turnover makes up 165.5bn soums on 10-16 June

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Trade turnover of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) made up 165.5 billion soums on 10-16 June 2013 against 117 billion soums in previous week. The growth rate made up 41.4%.

Exchange trades

The exchange trades of UZEX accounted 84% of total turnover. The turnover of the UZEX made up 138.5 billion soums in the reporting period, which grew by 39% compared to the previous week.

The food producers increased offers at the exchange. In the reporting period, the exchange increased sales of food products by 4.6 times. The sales of forage rose by 2.7 times, including feed wheat, husk and animal feed. The sales of fuels and lubricants also doubled. The growth of other commodities, including building materials and chemical products, made up 11% and 3%, respectively.

The exports of the exchange platform of the UZEX made up US$3.3 million in the reporting period against US$1.6 million compared in previous week. The growth was achieved due to increased sales of cathode copper. Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine realized cathode copper for US$1.3 million, which made up 39% of weekly export volume of the UZEX. At the same time, the exchange sold cement products for about US$1 million last week against US$765,000 in previous week. The exports of liquefied gas were also resumed and its share in total turnover reached 32%.

Exhibition-fair trades

Turnover of the exhibition-fair trades on 10-16 June made up 14.5 billion soums or grew by 80% compared to previous week. The deals for 7.5 billion fell to share of small businesses, number of which in trades rose from 596 to 858 units. The export deals rose three times to 439.6 million soums.

Tashkent branch leads on all figures for the second week in a row. Ferghana and Bukhara branches followed Tashkent branch on number of deals. Total share of these three branches made up 63% of total deals at the exhibition-fair trades. Ferghana and Khorezm region were second and third on the volume of deals.

About 67% of market fell to share of three groups of goods such as machinery (6.4 billion soums), goods for cultural-domestic purpose (2.4 billion soums) and agriculture products (897 million soums).

Largest deal of the week was recorded at Tashkent branch. The deal on sales of loader excavators was for 1.9 billion soums.

Public procurement

The volume of trades at the public procurement platform rose by 34% to 12.6 billion soums. Number of participating budget organization rose from 2,420 to 2,482 and suppliers – from 1,075 to 1,248. The sum of the saved budget recourses hit 2.3 billion soums, which rose by 512.1 million soums compared to previous week. Share of small businesses in turnover did not change and was at 91% level.

Karakalpakstan and Samarkand region led on number of deals, while Ferghan region fell from the first place to third due to decrease of deals’ number from 1,622 to 642. Tashkent city leads on the sum of the deal and the volume of saved budget resources.

Largest deal was recorded in Urgench city of Khorezm region. Its sum was at 190.5 million soums.
