UZEX turnover grows to 161.8bn soums last week

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turnover of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) grew by 50% compared to previous week to 161.8 billion soums on 8-14 July 2013. The exchange said that sales growth was recorded in all trade platforms.

Exchange trades

The volume of exchange deals grew by 49% to 129 billion soums in the reporting period against 86.7 billion soums in previous week.

The growth of offers of food products at the exchange trades helped to increase their share in trades from 3% to 19%. The sales of forage rose twice and oil products – 64%. The growth of sales of construction materials made up 18%.

The volume of trades at the export market reached US$4.7 million last week against US$834,000 in previous week. The polyethylene, cement and cathode copper were demanded in export market along with ammonium nitrate and liquefied gas.

Exhibition-fair trades

The volume of exhibition-fair trades rose twice to 21.1 billion soums due to growth of deals both in internal and external markets. The volume of internal deals reached 17.8 billion soums. Share of small businesses in realized goods made up 10.3 billion soums.

Tashkent, Namangan and Kashkadarya branches dominated on number of deals, while Tashkent and Namangan – on the sum of sales and purchases.

Products of machinery industry were highly demanded last week. The cable and wire products and consumer goods were also demanded in the market. These products accounted 67.6% of total turnover or 14.3 billion soums.

Largest deal was recorded at Tashkent branch on sales of copper wire to exports. The sum of the deal was US$1.5 million or 3.2 billion soums. The largest deal in internal market was registered with quartz sand. The sum of the deal is 1.1 billion soums.

Public procurement

The volume of public procurement grew by 15.8 million soums to 11.6 billion soums. The number of deals reached 6,357 units. The volume of the saved budget funds made up 1.9 billion soums.

Ferghana region was on the first place on the number of deals. It was followed Andijan and Samarkand regions. Tashkent city and Samarkand region led on the size of the deals.
