Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbektelecom will allocate about US$26 million to expand the capacity of the data transmission network in Uzbekistan.

The government of Uzbekistan has approved the main technical and economic indicators of the project. The project cost is US$25.9 million.

The project envisages the expansion of the bandwidth of the data transmission network and the International Packet Switching Center "Uzbektelecom", as well as the purchase of equipment.

Winncom Technologies Corp. won a tender for the implementation of the project.

Aloqabank will provide a loan in the amount of US$19.95 million for the implementation of the project. Uzbektelecom will also allocate US$5.97 million of its own funds.
