Uzbektelecom constructs hybrid solar-wind-diesel power station in Jizzakh region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uztelecom launched a hybrid solar-wind-diesel power station in Jizzakh region for test exploitation, Infocom.uz magazine reported.

The project “Sustainable electricity supply in rural and remote districts” was determined as one of regional initiatives of ITU in Haydarabad in 2010.

The project is aimed at revealing efficient ways of electricity supply to communication objects in rural and remote areas with use of alternative sources of energy such as solar, wind, hybrid solar-wind-diesel, etc).

Sustainable electricity supply of communication objects in rural and remote areas are important to ensure their functioning.

In the end of August, the construction and assembly works on the projects were completed. Telecom Transport Tarmogi of Uzbektelecom carried out all construction and assembly works within the project.

Currently, the station works in test mode. It is expected that the project will help to save 48,800 KWH of electricity or 7.564 million soums and 9,150 liters of diesel or 49.41 million soums a year. The project will help to save 56.974 million soums a year.
