The government of Uzbekistan approved feasibility study of the project, which envisages development of five fields, including Samantepe, Girsan and Taylak fields.
The development of the project will help to produce 6.8 billion cubic meters of gas and 160,000 tonnes of gas condensate by 2020. The fields were opened in early 1990s and were not developed so far. The reserves of the fields are not disclosed, Energynews reported.
The project is financed due to own resources of Uzbekneftegaz – US$212.7 million, loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan – US$75.5 million and credits of the Uzbek banks – US$46.2 million.
