Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Following the recommendations of the government on measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Uzbekkino suspends the implementation of several important joint international film projects.

The leadership of “Uzbekkino” sent letters to a number of leading foreign film companies of the following content:

“In connection with the strengthening of measures implemented by Uzbekistan to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Uzbekkino was forced to suspend filming of international film projects in our country in accordance with existing agreements. We also stop the international travel of our film groups. We kindly request to accept this as a notice of force majeure on our part. We greatly appreciate our cooperation and will immediately inform you of any changes from the current date and let you know when we resume work again.”

Filming was postponed for an indefinite period of time previously announced in the press of joint projects, such as the series about Zahir ad-din Muhammad Babur and the Baburid dynasty (film company "EMMAY ENTERTAIMENT", India, budget - US$10 million), the family film "Little Muk" ( STV film company, Russia. Budget: about US$9 million), sports drama "Mr. Knockout" (film company "Kinodom", Russia. Budget - US$3 million), fairy tales "Fairy Gift" by stage director Farhad Makhmudov (Budget - US$1 million, documentary Abu Ali Ibn Sino (Clan production media company, commissioned IBIS), 10 serial documentary on Imam Al Bukhari (Malaysian TV the RTM company), 5 part documentary about Uzbekistan (Malaysian company "Aquila Emas").

Also, the shooting of all films and series planned by the Uzbekkino national agency outside of Uzbekistan, including the shooting of the film “Baron. Return" with the participation of the production center "Inferno", Russia. The budget is about US$1.5 million), as well as the film “Muhabbat Bahori” (about famous poets Hamid Alimjan and Zulfiya (Budget US$700 thousand).

In addition, the Days of Japanese Cinema in Uzbekistan scheduled for 27-29 March 2020, as well as the Shlingel Film Festival (“Noise Bola”) within the framework of the German Film Days in Uzbekistan, the days of the Tatar Cinema in Uzbekistan scheduled for April, were temporarily canceled.
